IN ANCIENT TIMES HATHA YOGA WAS PRACTISED FOR
MANY YEARS AS A PREPARATION FOR HIGHER STATES OF CONSCIOUSNESS. TODAY, HOWEVER, THE REAL PURPOSE OF THIS ANCIENT SCIENCE IS BEING LOST.

ASHTANGA
Ashtanga yoga is a system of yoga transmitted to the modern world by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois (1915-2009). This method of yoga involves synchronizing the breath with a progressive series of postures—a process producing intense internal heat and a profuse, purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. The result is improved circulation, a light and strong body, and a calm mind.

HATHA
Hatha yoga is about balancing the body and mind. With ‘ha’ representing the esoteric sun, and ‘tha’ the moon, and the practice of Hatha Yoga aiming to join(yoke) or balance these two energies. In the Hatha classes we incorporate Pranayama (breathing techniques), and Asana (physical postures), practised more slowly and with more static posture holds than perhaps in a Vinyasa flow or Ashtanga class.
CORE POWER
Energetic and powerful class for those who would like to discover how to connect with their core and how to use their core strength in their Asana practice.
