TESTIMONIALS

Time for Tea.
Tea is a perfect Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga teacher. Her dynamic and cheerful classes will help you to build up both physical and mental strength. She will invite you to challenge yourself, she is dedicated to bring out the best of you, making sure that you will leave the class happy and empowered, ready to face the world problems. Her alignment touch is very confident and her verbal guiding helps to reach deeper levels of asanas.
Tea embodies different aspects of yoga power, she radiates positive attitude and inspiring confidence, combining it with feminine elegance, exquisite sense of beauty being it choice of music, colourful outfit or jewellery that she makes.
It was my luck to meet a teacher like Tea and to spend longer time being her student.

My love of yoga definitely comes from the lessons I was fortunate enough to have with Tea. She is an excellent teacher, patiently guiding you through the different yoga postures, and her knowledge of them is exceptional. She truly is an incredible teacher and her lessons were an oasis of calm spirituality in an otherwise hectic week. Distance divides us now or I would still be one of her committed pupils! I made such great progress with her and I was so pleased with my increased flexibility and strength. Thanks, Tea, for your amazing, inspiring and calming classes. I miss them so much!

I have known Tea Worrall for 2 years now. She taught me ashtanga yoga
from June 2011 until June 2013 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
During the two years I was her student, I found her to be a dedicated,
responsible, punctual, patient, methodical and skillful yoga teacher.
She starts her classes by asking us if we have any injuries or pain so
that she can advise us on what not to do to avoid further injury. Each
movement required is demonstrated and explained clearly with the
emphasis on safety and correct methodology. She also spends time
correcting every student's position and movement. She is particularly
skillful in assisting her students stretch and move deeper into a
position. Her expertise in this area requires a demonstration as words
cannot clearly describe it.
Tea is also a very dedicated teacher turning up to teach even when she
suffers from the physical discomfort of a cold or an old knee injury.
Often times, knowing that I was the only student for that class, she
would still come and teach me.
I have taken classes with other teachers and found Tea to be the most
methodical and skillful in helping students develop strength and
flexibility. She has my highest recommendation.

I have been Tea Worrall's student for almost a year while she was teaching in Chi Fitness in Kuala Lumpur. I always look forward to going to Tea's classes as I love her theme-based classes which would have us doing poses that work on opening our hip and shoulders in one class, a core strengthening sequence in another class or a back bending class which would start with poses to open the upper, middle and lower back. I will always remember her encouragement to hold on for one more breath in the pose, to work the legs by keeping our abductors engaged and to listen to the breath to keep our mind focus as we do the poses.
Tea's dedication to the practice and her enthusiasm in her teaching has been an inspiration to me.

I have long a history of martial arts and I had never before tried any form of Yoga. Basically my understanding of yoga was really poor. I thought it is just breathing, relaxing and stretching and not really something that I would be interested in... I was so wrong. Astanga Yoga is amazing. It is really right for a guy like me, who likes technical and detailed training and wants to push himself to do everything better and better.
Perhaps the main reason why it has been so great is that you have been an excellent teacher. You can explain movements in understandable way and lead the class with your example, as you are able to show everything how it should be done. You can see student levels and you can help each and everyone to improve and bypass their obstacles (physical or mental). And if some students are progressing faster, you will give them more and more details and/or more challenging moves. You have great attention to details which is very important that students don’t learn techniques wrong. You are demanding and don’t let students quit or give up. But you are demanding in a good way which encourages students to try more and trust their own abilities. Some demanding teachers, from my past, come out too strong and too aggressive which will actually make students run away. Your style is good.
I also liked the calm music during the class. Really helps to focus. Chanting felt a bit weird in the beginning but once I understood the meaning of breathing more, I could take the chanting as one breathing exercise. I am not interested about the religious aspects or anything like that. It is me who is doing and that I believe.
And one of the biggest positive results for me about Astanga yoga is that I have basically got rid of my shoulder and neck pains. I used to have lot of those during last year because my work is what it is. I am really happy that Riikka convinced me to try it. I try to find a chance to continue Astanga also in Finland. Hopefully teacher in there is as good as you.

To Future Yogis & Yoginis,
I have had the pleasure of taking Ashtanga yoga instruction from Tea Worrall for 5 months, usually 3 times per week, in Guangzhou, China. Though the experience was much too brief, it left an indelible impression on me. For the first time, I have glimpsed and felt the pull of yoga as a lifestyle rather than as merely a form of exercise. I owe this new awareness (plus my calm mind & strong body) to my practice with Tea.
I found Tea's teaching style to be a good balance between instruction and demonstration, with little break to the flow of the class. Tea's knowledge of and ability to perform the Ashtanga postures & variations is excellent and she was able to connect with people of many different experience levels in the same class. She had a knack for making the practice feel inspiring, and for provided the necessary consistency without making the practice feel rote or mechanical. Her renditions of the opening and closing chants and her choice of music during the class were wonderful and added to the experience in a positive way.
What impressed me most about Tea's instruction was her ability to help me understand which barriers were purely mental instead of physical and to help me steadily work to overcome them. Through her instruction, I was able to take my practice further and find more fulfillment than with any of my previous experiences with yoga (consistent periods of Hatha practice for 2 years and for 3 years each, with 2 different teachers).
I hold Tea in high regard and would recommend her unconditionally as an instructor.

I am writing to recommend Tea Worrall as an Ashtanga Yoga teacher. I met Tea at a pivotal time in my life. Many years ago I studied Ashtanga extensively, but since the birth of my children had not done it regularly. I was ready and determined to get back into it when I met Tea. Being in her class felt like coming home. From the first class it was clear that Tea knew exactly what she was doing. Her thorough knowledge and perfect execution of the primary series brought me back to my previous level of proficiency and beyond within just 9 months. She is endlessly patient with beginners and knows how to challenge those who are more experienced. She is able to tailor classes that are filled with students of all levels so that everyone is comfortable and everyone comes away having had a good experience. Tea is masterful at finding the balance between focus on the physical work and finding the serenity of mindfulness. She constantly reminds her students to focus on the breath, which is key for everyone. I trusted her implicitly when she corrected my alignment or stance, or pushed me deeper into a stretch. I invariably came away feeling, not that I had just done gymnastics for 90 minutes, but that I had had a true yogic experience. I would absolutely recommend Tea to anyone, of any level, young or old, fit or not. There is no doubt in my mind that she will bless your life the way she has blessed mine and you will come away from your interaction with her a healthier, stronger, and more mindful person.

The wonderful Tea helped me develop a real love of yoga after a few flirtations with it over the years but having never really taken to it or found the perfect mix or instructor. Upon arrival in Bangkok I found Tea, someone who successfully combined different yoga styles to meet my exact needs. Each session would leave me feeling stretched, relaxed, and like i had been through a work out. My mind felt calm and my body tested, and i learned to focus on my breathing to make the most out of the movement and postures. I have continued my yoga journey since moving away from Bangkok and i will always be grateful to Tea and her caring and personal approach for instilling the love of yoga in me. I hope to visit soon for a few sessions and some delicious food.
